Gearing Up for Ministry

Its been a while since I updated this blog and for that I apologize. Things have been moving along and i would like to share that with you.

First of all, JJM has hired a second person to help the cause. John Conklin brings 26 years of experience working with Juvenile Youth in various capacities and facilities. His passion for truly helping these kids is evident when you talk with him.

Second, John and I just completed the orientation and applcation process at Vanderheyden hall and look forward to starting ministry at our first site in the next few months. Check out their organization at www.vanderheydenhall.org.

Thanks for checking out the blog.

Finally Full-Time

It's September 17th and I am finally full-time w/ YFC again...

Last night at 9:00 pm the duty officer at Brookwood Secure Center granted me permission to walk around the facility to say my good byes to about 20 residents that I had grown close to.  Many of the guys I had mentored over the course of the last 14 months, all of whom I had deep conversations about life.  As I walked out of Brookwood for the last time as a Youth Division Aide I had a tear in my eye.

Today I look forward to what God has planned for me as the Director of Juvenile Justice Ministries for the Capital Region (Albany, NY).

For my immediate future....
3 Day training on YFC's new Challenge Course (www.shilohsedge.blogspot.com)
Working on my Blogspots (www.cdyfcjjm.blogspot.com and bkwyfc.blogspot.com)
Learning YFC's new reporting system
3 Days at Spruce lake Camp for YFC's fall staff retreat
Contact Supporters and Potential Supporters for appointments
Starting BKW fall ministry
Planning Paintball Bootcamp overnight retreat

My life motto...
ARMY of the Lord
Serving God is not a job : It's an adventure

In Christ Alone,
Tim

Welcome to my blog!

We want you to know that we are changing how we communicate with our partners and friends of Youth for Christ. Instead of receiving a monthly prayer letter from each specific ministry area or staff members that you are connected with, we will be publishing this newly designed Youth Matters. We’ll keep you updated with a calendar of events, prayer requests, teen testimonies, ways you can get involved and we will honor a special volunteer each month. You will be directed to each ministry’s website and prayer blog, to read more frequently updated news, prayer requests, praise reports, family news, etc. on any of the ministries you are interested in. (see inside – Meet Our Team). We will be able to mail this new version of Youth Matters at bulk rate postage and save time and $$ each month – in printing and postage costs.

We hope you will welcome this change and frequently check out the websites/prayer blogs for the specific ministry area that you are most connected with. AND we hope you’ll visit the others as well, to learn more about the scope of our ministry and how we all are working together to reach kids throughout the whole Capital Region.

Thanks for standing with us… helping us love kids in Jesus’ name. Your partnership is making a difference.
